Professional Staff Opportunities

Community Service Officer (CSO)CSO Patrol

A CSO is a professional staff employee who provides operational support to community members in a public Safety capacity when a commissioned officer is not needed.  They assist the community by completing investigations, compiling reports for numerous non-violent crimes.  They are also responsible for traffic collision investigations, issuing civil citations, scene security, and collecting. submitting evidence.  They do not carry firearms and do not have arresting authority.

Professional Staff Investigator (PSI)

PSIs are non-commissioned criminal investigators. They do not have arrest powers. They will work alongside police detectives investigating criminal incidents, conducting follow-up, collecting evidence, preparing reports and developing probable cause. They will work under the supervision of a police sergeant.

Public Records Specialist

The Police Records Specialist I position at the City of Tucson’s Police Department performs clerical and customer service work while learning specialized systems and procedures to support the daily operations of the division/section. 

This is an entry level position within the Police Records series. Each level is distinguished by increasing levels of complexity, judgment and responsibility, as well as defined technical expertise. 

Crime Scene Specialist

Conducts crime scene investigations, identifies, photographs, collects, and preserves evidence associated with crime scenes.

Analytics Team               FEMU- Reviewing evidence
